Accounting research is characterized by its reliance on rigorous analytical methods to address questions driven by problems and applications from the field. Doctoral training builds a strong foundation in the basic disciplines of economics, mathematics, psychology and statistics, and an appreciation of both theoretical and empirical research. Research spans topics ranging from strategic cost management and performance evaluation to accounting system design and financial statement analysis.
