Conference Highlights
Attending the 16th Annual PMBA Conference
Attendance is limited and advance registration is required. However, there is no fee for the conference itself. Attendees are responsible for their own travel, hotel expenses and the evening meal on Wednesday. We will follow the past practice of limiting the first round of confirmations to one attendee from each school. Second and subsequent registrants from the same institution will be placed on a wait list until August 1, 2009, and then will be confirmed as space allows on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Doubletree Dallas/Richardson is the official PMBA conference hotel. The UT Dallas School of Management has reserved a block of rooms under the following code: PMBA16, at a rate of $89.00 per night full breakfast included.
Conference Agenda
The 16th Annual PMBA Conference will target two issues. The first will concentrate on institutional marketing and management in today's challenging economic climate; the second will be directed at individual leadership in a world with dramatically changing realities.
Unlike past conferences, participants this year will be able to select from a range of breakout sessions relating to these topics. These will be developed over the summer in consultation with the conference community. We invite attendees to share with conference co-chairs Monica Powell and Doug Eckel issues you think PMBA leadership should be discussing. A call for conference participants to provide specific break-out session proposals will be sent to registrants in early June. The value of the conference as a whole, and to each of you individually, is dependent upon its relevance to the topics and issues you each confront and manage in your day-to-day lives.
Of Special Interest
On Wednesday evening, when you arrive at the hotel, there will be a reception off the lobby, at which you will have a chance to connect with friends and acquaintances attending this year’s conference. This will allow the entire group to break up into smaller "supper clubs." We will then transport these groups to locations in Dallas where they can choose from a variety of restaurants selected to make this a fun and informative evening. Conference attendees are responsible for the cost of their Wednesday dinner.
In addition to our keynote speakers, conference breakout sessions, the opening reception and the supper clubs, UT Dallas will host a dinner gala Thursday evening at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. This will give us a chance to entertain you in a distinctly Texan tradition, with food and entertainment to match.
