Managing Projects Across Borders
Do you know what it's like when negotiations with a potential international partner go absolutely nowhere even though initial interest seemed high? Or when a foreign vendor reassures you that everything is on track and you find out they're way behind? Or when your company's project team members from different countries seem to act more like competitors than colleagues? You're not alone. While international project collaboration has become a reality for thousands of program and project managers in the United States, the success rate is mixed. Organizations frequently struggle with misaligned expectations, differences in values and work styles, and the challenges of communicating across distances, languages and cultures. The Managing Projects Across Borders series is a unique opportunity for executives, program managers, project managers and team members to mitigate the often unseen risks in international project management.
