Certificate in International Business and Trade

The new Certificate in International Business and Trade courses are now available for registration.

The UTD Foreign Trade Institute is now offering the two core courses for this exciting and necessary certificate program. The Fundamentals of International Business and Trade course will begin on February 1, 2006. The Principles of Export course will begin on March 1, 2006. These self paced courses are designed to give international trade executives useful insights into international business trade. Executive students who complete the certificate program will have a better understanding of how to compete in today’s global economy. Rounding out the five courses of the Certificate in International Business and Trade Certificate will be International Trade Law, Global Strategy and International Supply Chain Management. They will be available in the summer and fall of 2006. The Certificate in International Business and Trade will also be available to executive students who live and work outside of the United States.

Principles of Export

This course is a study of export management process and procedures. Topics include organizing for export, structuring of export sales, export strategy, contracts, trade terminology, the order process, customs, and tariff planning considerations, export finance, logistics, documentation, governmental control and regulations, and other topics. Students will gain a general overview of the most significant elements of conducting an export business. Students will develop an export plan for a product of their choice. Cost of the course is $1295.00

Notice

Please note the courses outlined above and in this certificate program are non-credit courses. There are self test and projects that result in executive students meeting a minimum performance requirement. This qualifies executive students who complete the four courses certificate of completion.

There are no mandatory per-requisites for the courses. Previous experience in work or study is helpful but not required. The courses are self paced and do require time management skills to complete the course.
