Who Should participate:

Area or departmental managers, directors, individual contributors, supervisors and others who want and need an improved understanding of ALL business fundamentals and current "best practices" in management and leadership. It is also ideal for technical, engineering and other professionals who have assumed management roles, and managers that need to improve their professional skills and knowledge in order to advance in their careers. The diverse backgrounds, different functional roles and many industries represented by classmates provide a rich forum of new perspectives and ideas, while forging a new network of peers and advocates.

Coursework and Online Delivery:

In the new fully Online program, students progress at their own pace. There are ten learning modules, each focusing on one MBA subject. Each module consists of assigned reading, case studies, streaming video lecture of key points, PowerPoint instructional slides, video case study analysis, and more. When ready, students demonstrate their comprehension of the subject by taking a unit quiz for each of the ten modules. An aggregate grade of 70% or better is required to earn the Certificate of Management. There is no comprehensive final exam.

Once registered the student receives a packet including required texts, course syllabus, and all needed material. Learning modules are delivered via the Internet using UTD's

Blackboard virtual classroom portal. A high speed connection is strongly suggested since portions of the curriculum are delivered in streaming video format.
