M.S. in Accounting and Information Management

The 36-hour Master of Science degree in Accounting and Information Management is designed for students with or without a previous educational background in accounting and business. Within the M.S. in Accounting and Information Management degree program, students may select one of seven concentrations based on their previous experience and aspirations. Concentrations include financial analysis, audit services, taxation services, international services, information management, managerial services, and internal audit. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in core courses and overall to qualify for the program.

Basic Business Core Courses (12 credit hours)

Each candidate must satisfactorily complete the following three courses:

  • AIM 6344 Financial Statement Analysis
  • MECO 6303 Business Economics
  • OPRE 6301 Quantitative Introduction to Risk and Uncertainty in Business

And complete one of the following two courses:

  • OPRE 6302 Operations Management
  • AIM 6343 Accounting Information Systems

Accounting Foundation (9 credit hours)

Students must satisfactorily complete the following three courses. Students who have already taken foundation courses (or their undergraduate equivalents) may replace them with graduate AIM electives.

  • AIM 6330 Intermediate Financial I
  • AIM 6332 Intermediate Financial II
  • AIM 6341 Planning, Control and Performance Evaluation
